Who is JATOBA ?

JATOBA, inspired by the "courbaril" tree, is a unique duo formed by vocalist Lanoir and producer A Cat Called Fritz. Together, they craft an evocative sound that blends deep, metaphorical lyrics with naturalistic delivery, courtesy of Lanoir, and the intricately crafted beats of A Cat Called Fritz. With influences spanning Trip-Hop, Hip-Hop and Jazz, their music offers an immersive auditory experience that’s both distinct and captivating.

JATOBA’s debut : "I Follow"
JATOBA’s first single, “I Follow”, marks the duo’s entry into the music scene with a compelling blend of melody and rhythm. Following their initial contribution to the Bords de Marne compilation with “Tomorrow”, JATOBA is poised to captivate listeners worldwide.

"I Follow" is the first single from their debut album, "Leaf Out". "Leaf Out" will be available digitally and on vinyl starting February 21, 2025, released under a night on canopy.

Lanoir : The voice and vision behind JATOBA

Lanoir, a multi-talented artist, began her journey as a visual artist and illustrator, creating album artwork for french and international Hip-Hop artists such as La Tribu du Chef Guida, T-Love or Chaotik Styles.

Today, Lanoir steps into the spotlight as a vocalist, collaborating on projects with artists like :

A Cat Called Fritz : The Beatmaker behind the magic

Since debuting with Slow Down and On & On in 2008, A Cat Called Fritz has established himself as a top-tier producer in the international underground Hip-Hop scene. His work spans multiple roles : DJ, beatmaker, illustrator and graphic designer.

Key milestones in his career include :

Collaborating with American rapper Audessey for the album Beats per Minute (2013).
Releasing Tribulations & Life Of (2015) and Vertical Iris (2017), featuring international artists such as Black Josh (UK), Sach (The Nonce • USA), and LayFullStop (UK). A Cat Called Fritz is member of the french rap group Mauvais Zèbres besides Lemdi and Diggi Dyzberg.
